Hi, I recently purchased an Xbox One controller for my PC and it's not working. It's a white pdp brand controller. I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit.
Xbox One wireless controller not working on Windows 7 I got an Xbox one controller for PC today, which came with a wireless adaptor. I managed to install the controller using drivers provided by Windows automatically, and it does work via USB.
I'm fully up to date with Windows Update and I've managed to source the driver from another thread in this sub (a year old!) and installed that, but it's still not working. I've restarted multiple times.
This is what is displayed in device manager.
I'm at a bit of a loss now! Is there something I'm missing? Have any of you had this issue before?
EDIT: It's wired, not wireless. :)
EDIT 2: I've tried multiple ports, restarts, re-installing drivers. I'm getting the little ding when you plug a USB device in so the machine is recognising it, just not letting me play! Sounds like a driver issue but I don't know what.
EDIT 3, pasted from one of my replies: The mystery continues. I'm posting this to every reply. Tried Skyrim, the mouse is unresponsive and it's giving me Xbox button icons in the main menu. So the PC knows it's there, but it won't fucking work!

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
